Profile

The Center for Food Innovation is seeking a Senior Technician Enzymes to join the Food Science and Product Development team at Enzyme House. In this role, you will collaborate closely with fellow technicians, experts, and scientists to support food enzyme development projects across various Taste, Texture and Health business segments, including Cheese, Milk, Baking, Plant-based Dairy, and Ingredient Processing.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Independently plan, prepare, and execute enzyme biochemistry experiments, such as SDS-PAGE and enzyme activity assays using spectrophotometric or HPLC methods.
  • Design experiments based on technical hypotheses, analyze data, and discuss findings with scientists and colleagues.
  • Present results, draw conclusions, and recommend subsequent actions.
  • Enhance laboratory efficiency by automating workflows.
  • Oversee and troubleshoot analytical equipment, ensuring proper maintenance.
  • Prioritize safety in all tasks and activities.

Who we're looking for

We are seeking a candidate with a BSc. / HLO degree in (applied) Biochemistry or Biotechnology, with at least 5 years of experience as a technician in an R&D laboratory. The ideal candidate has experience working with enzymes and is proficient in biochemical techniques such as SDS-PAGE, HPLC, and spectrophotometric assays. Affinity with automation is a plus. A proactive mindset, efficiency in work planning, flexibility, eagerness to learn new techniques, and strong teamwork skills are essential.
