For the Vegetarian Butcher we are looking for new ‘meat on the block’ to join them in the biggest food revolution of all times. In this journey they are travelling (and expanding) at the speed of light and therefore we are looking for a Product Developer who has the passion to change the world!
Since vegetable protein-based meat replacements are a relatively new territory in food science, the R&D department will play a pivotal role in the years to come. The TVB R&D team is looking for a food scientist to create and/or renovate meat replacement products.
The team is currently driving project delivery for different types of meat replacement products, such as chicken chunks, hamburgers, chicken nuggets, cold cuts, and sausages. As a member of the TVB R&D team, as product developer you will be involved in new innovations, renovations, and 5S-related projects.
It is important that you are highly passionate in creating delicious products and at the same time you have appreciation for the industrial recipe creation.
In this role, you will work together in a team with a technical project leader, process technologist, digital, marketing, supply chain, and procurement.
Your main responsibilities:
- Provide formulation related technical input to projects;
- Develop product formulations according to the business product design brief, processability and safety requirements;
- Update existing formulation in case of rejuvenation according to the improvements set/agreed;
- Perform product and ingredient physical-chemical analyses according to needs;
- In silico first approach (start with computer and later go to the kitchen) using available tools, predictive models;
- Support implementation of approved formulation in the sourcing unit through pilot plant and plant trials.
Who we're looking for
We are looking for candidates with a HBO or Masters degree in Food Technology and at least one year of relevant professional experience. You have knowledge of- and experience with Texturized Vegetable Proteins and/or Meat Processing. Additionally, you have a technical mindset applied to solutions and a strong eye for detail.
