At CLS, we prioritise the perfect match and job satisfaction

"When people are happy, so are we. We aim to provide the best options for our clients, candidates, and employees."

Jan Paul Favier, co-founder and co-owner of CLS Services, is unequivocal about the company’s motivation. Jan Paul explains: “We strive to do things right. At CLS, we don’t work with rigid targets. This ensures that people genuinely choose the company, the role, and for us! We don’t force anything upon them. Treating people fairly is, in our view, simply the right thing to do. It fosters loyalty and contributes to overall happiness. Consequently, employees feel less inclined to switch to another employer. For this reason, we don’t impose non-compete clauses on our staff. We also encourage open discussions, even if candidates are exploring multiple opportunities. These conversations often help them realise why a particular role is the best fit for them.”

Jan Paul continues: “René and I met during our first month at Yacht. There we thoroughly learned all the necessary processes. Having both worked extensively in life sciences and chemistry, we understood the industry’s dynamics and client needs. We shared the same perspective: focusing on whether people would genuinely enjoy their role, feel comfortable in their workplace, and thrive as individuals. With this philosophy – ‘putting people first’ – we launched CLS Services. Specialising in recruitment, selection, and secondment within life sciences and chemistry, our guiding principle has always been: ‘When people are happy, so are we. We aim to provide the best options for our clients, candidates, and employees.’

Satisfied employees
The CLS team is always accessible to its employees. Whether it’s via a call, email, or sometimes even a quick message, their questions are promptly addressed. The relatively small but highly experienced team knows the industry inside out. CLS goes the extra mile to show appreciation for its staff, regularly offering thoughtful gestures and personalised attention. No request is too unusual, and everything is open for discussion.
CLS frequently receives feedback from employees stating that other seconded professionals often comment, “You’re lucky to work at CLS.”

Striking a balance in equal compensation
Jan Paul explains: “Hearing this kind of feedback is wonderful and perfectly aligns with our goals. We aim for a fair balance in equal compensation and remain open to requests for financial support, which often come from our clients as well. We maintain strong relationships to discuss such matters openly. For instance, we find it odd if permanent employees at the same company receive more annual leave than our seconded staff or if an entire department attends a conference while our external employee is excluded. Unfortunately, we still hear of situations where personal life events become obstacles in someone’s career. What if someone goes on maternity leave? Well, we congratulate them and always strive to find a solution that satisfies everyone.

Some may perceive this approach as soft, but we refuse to exploit people for our own gain. Our focus is on creating a work environment we would want for ourselves – one that fosters enjoyment. So, we remain committed to making people happy, both on the client and employee side.”
